I enjoyed an opportunity to talk to lots of constituents, to catch up with the Manor FFA students who were hustling at the food stand, and to, of course, enjoy some amazing tomato sandwiches. Blue Rock Fire Rescue benefits from the proceeds generated by this annual event. I was glad to run into Miller campaign supporters Mike & Peggylynne Rohrer and their crew at the festival!</image:caption>

Ryan Aument and I spoke to dozens of residents who asked great questions on Pennsylvania's public pension crisis, education funding and school district costs, and much more. I'd like to think they came to hear Rep. Aument and me, but when there's 11 kinds of pie available from Shady Maple, it's kind of hard to compete.</image:caption>

Great conversation regarding our ideas for pension reform and property tax reform - and I got a tour of Hambright Elementary, Elizabeth Martin Elementary and Penn Manor High School. <image:caption>A gorgeous evening tonight for the Design Day finale for the Amos Herr Dream Park. After teams visited every elementary school in the Hempfield School District to get ideas from students, an initial design was unveiled this evening to a great crowd. I'm very thankful for the work that so many dedicated volunteers are putting in and excited about this project for kids in West Hempfield, Mountville, East Hempfield, and the rest of the surrounding area. So many people deserve thanks for getting this project off the ground. With me in this photo are Design Day volunteer Deb Van Pelt, my wife Jen, me, and the three heroic co-chairs of the Dream Park team: Ben Craddock, Bill Keays, and Kristi Newport.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Excellent afternoon talking with first responders from all over the region at the Lancaster County Fireman's Association Annual Convention at the Lancaster County Public Safety Training Center. It was also a celebration of East Hempfield's own Lancaster County Public Safety Training Center. I got some great information from several police officers about C.A.S.E. - Lancaster County Campaign Against the Sexual Exploitation of Children. I winced as I saw one of our East Hempfield Township police officers serve as the "test subject" for a taser demonstration. And I congratulated several members of theLancaster Township Fire Department as they took this 1989 engine out for one of its final public demonstrations. It's being retired after many years of service and is in the process of being replaced. Great to connect with so many amazing volunteers and leaders who do so much to keep our communities and families safe.</image:caption>

<image:caption>A beautiful afternoon to meet the crowds at the annual Hempfield Cops & Rodders car show at the Hempfield High School! There were some amazing cars at this event - plus a nice show from the police departments in Hempfield. My wife, Jen, and I were there to help out at the Dream Park stand. Proceeds from this event benefit the Safety Through Technology Education Partnership for the Hempfield School District. If you've never been to this event, you should put it on your calendar for next year. http://www.hempfieldcopsandrodders.com/</image:caption>
